In making this song, I guess I just needed to get back to what God's grace really meant in my life, and so I considered the scripture from Lamentations 3:22,23: "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." And this is a scripture I constantly need to remind myself of, because...I screw it up badly...often; every day, in fact. But just remembering that it's not about my performance or my "perfection" in this life, but about His love and His grace given to me, then I'm able to get back on my feet and keep going for the Lord. I also find it interesting that a scripture like this came out of a book about the lamentation of the destruction of Israel for their disobedience. It just shows that God is good even in our difficult times, and continues to love us, though He may need to discipline us to show that.
